A series of photo-etchings based on photographs of the Edmund Pettus Bridge, the Confederate Graveyard and Memorial, and the Harmony Club of an old Jewish Community Center in Selma, Alabama. During a recent stay as an Artist in Residence at the University of Montevallo, Alabama, I visited Selma and its surroundings.
The series explores the past as that which keeps on happening, which keeps making its mark upon the present, in Selma, in America more broadly, but also elsewhere in my personal and collective histories

In a country where oblivion is who gathers the remains of the city, where the blanks of collective memory decide about the changes in power and the markets, the work of LIHIE TALMOR functions as a film of the subversive unconscious.
